Maintenance Technician

General Description: This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing company equipment and facilities.
Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred, but not required.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Able to read tape measure and voltage meter. Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. Able to read and interpret moderately complex documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc. Able to write notes or simple correspondence. Able to effectively communicate information to coworkers and managers. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Essential Duties:
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical apparatus, including electrical components of machinery and equipment
  • Repair hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic valves, and pneumatic valves
  • Perform periodic preventative maintenance (PMs) on all equipment
  • Identify the cause of machine and equipment malfunctions (?trouble shoot?)
  • Dismantle, repair, and re-assemble equipment as necessary
  • Run power supply wiring to machines and equipment
  • Run auxiliary cables and wires to machines and equipment
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on building and office

Work Environment: Heavy manufacturing with loud noise levels. Enclosed, but not air conditioned work areas. Space heaters and fans provided.
Physical Demands: Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, walking, using hands, reaching, kneeling/crouching, and talking/hearing. Lifts/positions items weighing less than 10 lbs. more than 2/3 of time. Generally requires clear vision at close distances (for reading and inspecting) and color vision (for identifying wire color).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
